A Year Later

A year ago today, I was in the hospital for my mental health. I distanced myself from my maternal side of my family and thought I would be so lonely without them. For years I was brain washed into believing they were all I had after marrying my husband. They even tried to tell me to divorce him a couple days after the wedding.

When I was a child they fooled me into thinking my paternal side had nothing but bad intentions. I was so lonely and thought I wouldn't make it out of 2022 alive. But boy were they wrong....

Once I started to become healthier, I was in a better position to take what they kept throwing at me. The harassment, calling Drake's work to try to get him fired (even after I was granted an Emergency Protection Order against them), showed their final true colours to us and motivated us even more to get back out to where we are the happiest.

A year later, we are now living in Manchester yet again! My husband and I have received our 5 year visas and will be living here until we receive citizenship. I am a teachers assistant now working towards teacher certification in the UK and Drake is working in a company that he has dreamed of forever (not going to name the company, no more harassment for us!). However, that's not all I would like to share....

Baby Rendle is making an appearance in May of 2023! That's right, I'm pregnant!!!

It took us a little under a year to conceive and we can't wait to have our little British baby. I know I have done everything in my power to make sure Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's) doesn't affect me or my family any longer. I am so proud of who I have become after thinking I would never see the light at the end of the tunnel, and here we are!

Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile & love you no matter what.

Cheers to the future my fellow readers! We can't wait for this chapter.
